<p>Vim is a highly configurable text editor built to make creating and changing any kind of text very efficient. It is included as "vi" with most UNIX systems and with Apple OS X.</p>

<h2 id="using-this-manual">Using This Manual</h2>
<p>This manual is meant to serve as a quick reference for Vim, with a glance into some more advanced concepts. One should start with the <a href="quickstart/">QuickStart</a>, and use <a href="understanding/">Understanding</a> as a quick reference for tasks a user would typically expect to be able complete faster with Vim than a traditional editor.</p>
<p>Basic knowledge of using a terminal is required, and if you do not posess such skill, <a href="https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/Tools_and_testing/Understanding_client-side_tools/Command_line">learn the way of the blade</a>.</p>
